The 8th A3 Metamaterials Forum (2024) is scheduled to be held from 23rd to 25th July, 2024 in Shenzhen University Town Conference Center. The forum is hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and Southern University of Science and Technology. The forum is financially supported partially by Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Semiconductor Optoelectronic Materials and Intelligent Photonic Systems.
Background of the meeting
Optical metamaterial is a vital system in nanophotonics. Over the past decades, researches have made great progress on the topics of artificial materials and surfaces in electromagnetic, acoustic, and other systems from DC to optical frequencies and beyond. However, their further applications are strongly hindered by high surface loss and poor controllability of optical metastructures. To address those issues, much effort has been conducted including material synthesis, nanofabrication technology, and new principles to achieve metastructures with no loss and great controllability. Those advances will highly promote their applications in the fields of AR/VR, LIDAR, optical communication, and etc. Here, to promote the cooperation between China and Japan, Korea, we call for top scholars in the field of metamaterials to participate A3 META 2024 Conference in Shenzhen, which is hosted by Shumin Xiao (Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen)) and Guixin Li (Southern University of Science and Technology). This forum is sponsored by Nanophotonics, Advanced Photonics, and Photonics Insights.

Note:
（1）You can register to attend the conference without making a report.
（2）Each invited speaker has 25 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. Presentations should be in English. Please send a 1-page abstract (with title, authors, author affiliations, corresponding author's e-mail) no later than June 20, 2024.
（3）Poster Sessions will be held on July 24 on the second floor of the conference center. The size of the poster board is 90 cm wide and 120 cm height. An A0-sized poster is recommended. Your board will be indicated by the poster number. Enrollment to the best poster competition should be done upon the web registration.
